Welcome to the Leiserson Research Group!

Max is leaving his position at U. Maryland to join Mosaic. Consequently, the Leiserson Research Group is not accepting new students or postdocs.

We are a research group in the Department of Computer Science and Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the University of Maryland. Our research is focused on designing algorithms to make advances in public health, particularly related to cancer.

Current topics of interest include cancer genomics, cancer immunotherapy, and network biology.

Somatic mutations

What are the causes and consequences of somatic mutations in cancer?

Network biology

What are the shared patterns in biological networks from different species?

Immunotherapy

What factors gathered from patients before treatment are predictive of response?
